MLA demolishes classroom infrastructure

IMPHAL, Jan 18: A group of people led allegedly by Khurai AC MLA L Susindro today demolished under construction classroom infrastructure of Khurai Heigrumakhong Junior High School.
Questioning why the under construction classroom infrastructure were demolished without informing the local clubs and Meira Paibis, Konsam Leikai Apunba Nupi Lup and Friends’ Union Club have vehemently condemned the demolition.
Speaking to media persons at Khurai Heigrumakhong, Konsam Leikai Apunba Nupi Lup secretary Laishram Thambalsana said that some local people, on receiving information at about 2.10 pm that the under construction classroom infrastructure were being demolished went out and checked the matter.
They saw a group of people including MLA L Susindro demolishing the classroom infrastructure using an excavator, Thambalsana said.
Saying that the demolition of classroom infrastructure was an act of sheer arrogance and complete disrespect of the local people, club and Meira Paibis, she said that the locality will take an appropriate decision regarding the incident.
Friends’ Union Club Secretary Mayanglambam Khonikar said  that it has been around one and a half month since the construction of the school infrastructure began, and the construction work was in the phase of completion.
He said that the under construction school infrastructure was demolished by MLA Susindro using heavy machinery.
