Meepham resolves to uphold customs

IMPHAL, Jan 19 : A public gathering titled “Sanjenbam Meepham” was held on Monday to discuss the practices and customs involved in pertinent ceremonial rituals from one’ s birth till death (rites of passage). As per a release issued by Enat Yokkhatpa Luptin (EYOL), the gathering unanimously resolved to restrict extravagant modem additions in traditional rituals such as lavish tent setups, excessive decorations, and costly elements (like ring exchanges, cake cutting) that burden families financially and dilute cultural authenticity.
