MASSAL urges BOSEM
IMPHAL, Jan 19: Though the 2026-27 academic session commenced on January 19, classes have not yet begun in a majority of schools due to BOSEM's inability to make necessary textbooks available to students. The Manipur Semgat Sagatpa Lup (MASSAL) attributed this failure in supplying textbooks on time to the lack of a long term policy and persistent unethical practices at BOSEM. As a result, the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009 has failed in Manipur, said MASSAL. It cautioned that MASSAL Student's Wing will launch intense protests if the textbooks are not made available to students at the earliest.
It has urged Education (S) and BOSEM to stop adding to the people's woes and respect the RTE Act, 2009.
