Sahu inspects houses built under PMAY-U
Kakching, Jan 18 (DIO/IPR): The Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu concluded his two-day visit to the State today.
On the second day of his visit, Tokhan Sahu inspected houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban (PMAY-U) at Ward Number 7 under the Kakching Municipal Council (KMC). He also visited Salam Project Pukhri Achouba, rejuvenated under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0.
Afterwards, the MoS interacted with members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY NULM) near Leibaklei Gas and inspected the Moramba Solid Waste Management site at Kak-ching Moramba under KMC.
Following this, Tokhan Sahu also inspected the Kakching District Hospital and visited stalls set up by IDPs at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex, where crochet dolls and sanitary pads made by displaced folks were displayed.
Tree saplings were planted at the DC Office Complex by Tokhan Sahu along with Kakching Deputy Commissioner Uppuluri Chaitanya (IAS) and Priyadarshini Laishram (IPS), SP, Kakching along with the Kakching Forest officials.
On Saturday evening, Tokhan Sahu was accorded a warm welcome by the District Administration Kakching team led by DC Uppuluri Chaitanya and SP Priyadarshini Laishram upon his arrival at Kakching Mini Secretariat.
The MoS was accompanied by Kakching AC MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar Singh, along with his staff.
The MoS interacted with the District Level Officers and reviewed flagship programmes implemented by various Government departments. Urging the officers to implement the flagship programs sincerely, he said all suggestions are welcome from the officers and that he is ready to help them for the growth and development in the district. He further gave his assurance to all that the Government is committed and working towards the overall development of the State.
