IMPHAL, Jan 20 : In a shocking development, the Manipur Pony and Polo Players’ Welfare Association (MP&PWA) has managed to identify three for their alleged indulgence in selling meat of historically and culturally significant Manipuri Pony.
The development emerged after a four-member investigative team of MP&PWA was formed to track down a "gang of horse meat sellers" with the assistance of Arambai Tenggol headquarters.
Following a thorough independent probe, the team managed to identify three persons associated with Arvind Polo Club and Kwakta Polo Club, who were allegedly indulging in illicit selling of already endangered Manipuri Pony, said MP&PWA in a press note.
The association has lodged an “FIR against the trio with the Lamphel PS”, it said.
