IMPHAL, Jan 21: Boycotting the Republic Day of India, the CorCom has called a total shutdown from 12 pm of January 25 till 6 am of January 26.
A real republic should have a sovereign representative Government and independent governance and there should be no black laws but the Indian Republic was created by a cultural class made up of Brahmin-Bania (Brahmin traders), according to a statement issued by the CorCom Publicity Committee.
In the Indian Republic, minorities are nothing more than an electoral class, necessary for wresting electoral power. Indian Nationalists did not give any key position to minorities in the process of forming the Indian Republic even though they wore the mask of liberal democratic ideology, it alleged.
The Indian Nationalists did not trust the minorities and they had no respect for the minorities. This system of cultural hegemony laid the foundation of the Indian Republic as a Hindu Nation, the CorCom said.
It alleged that the extremist Hindutva ideology is embedded in the Indian Republic’s idea of liberal democracy.
Even Mahatma Gandhi accepted the ‘varna system’ as a practicable division of labour, it said.
Moreover, the Nationalist movement which took birth in mainland India was associated with expansionism since the early stages. Based on British imperial cartography, a new country which never existed earlier was built, and the Indian Nationalists started working for the realization of the myth of ‘Akhand Bharat’, the CorCom said.
It was this idea of Akhand Bharat which drove the Indian Nationalists to plan for annexation of Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Tibet, Manipur and WESEA, according to the statement.
India created SAARC with the idea of creating an Akhand Bharat but the neighbouring countries have realised India’s agenda of ‘sub-continental’ hegemony. As a result, all the neighbouring countries have moved away from the hegemonic agenda of India and SAARC is now a dead alliance, the CorCom said.
Manipur (Kangleipak) emerged as a democratic Nation-State in 1947 but the Indian Nationalist did not respect the right to self-determination of Manipur (Kangleipak).
In the process of forming the Indian Republic, rights of many independent Nations were violated. Violating all the international law and norms, India forcibly annexed Manipur (Kangleipak) on October 15, 1949.
From then on, India started governing Manipur as a buffer State, far away from its economic and development policies, it said.
It alleged that Manipur (Kangleipak) is still kept as a buffer military outpost of the Indian Republic. By stationing innumerable numbers of military personnel, India has been continuously exerting pressure to suppress the revolutionary movement of Manipur (Kangleipak) and destroy all revolutionary ideas, it said.
The CorCom alleged that Indian leaders have been plotting consistently to hand over regions like WESEA and Manipur (Kangleipak) which are rich in bio-diversity and natural resources to big capitalists.
With the presence of many rare earth minerals confirmed in WESEA, India has been working hurriedly to ‘annihilate’ the region. Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to Guwahati recently together with many capitalists from mainland India and formulated a policy to annihilate the region, it alleged.
It went on to allege that the Indian Republic is a ‘Banana Republic’ where all the powers are concentrated in the hands of a few capitalists.
The Indian Republic Day is a Hindutva Republicanism and a project of cultural hegemony. It is a deceitful celebration aimed at solidifying the alien rule, it alleged.
Although India is said to be the fourth largest economy in the world, there are lakhs and lakhs of beggars in India and it is a land where voting rights of citizens are bought with money, the CorCom said.
It also pointed out that India occupies bottom places in the ranking of Human Development Index and democracy.
The 76th Republic Day of India marks 76 years of Indian colonialism, oppression and subjugation in Manipur (Kangleipak), it alleged.
As a result of the seeds of communal discord and distrust sown by the Government of India, Kuki armed groups under SoO agreement launched an armed aggression on May 3, 2023 openly demanding ethnic territory and separate ethnic administration, it said.
The Government of India has been plotting consistently to create challenges to the integrity, boundary and communal harmony of Manipur. It’s time for the people to stand united and defeat the Government of India’s divisive policy.
The Indian Republic Day is a colonial reconsolidation day for Manipur (Kangleipak), it alleged.
The CorCom has appealed to all the people to stay away from the 76th Indian Republic Day celebration and stay indoors during the shutdown hours.
Religious functions, medical and emergency services would be exempted from the purview of the total shutdown, it added.
