Extortionists held

IMPHAL, Jan 22 : Manipur police arrested two extortionists from Motbung Bazar under Gamnom Saparmeina PS, Kangpokpi district today.
They have been identified as Kaikhochon Kipgen (29) of Saparmeina village and Kaisei Khongsai (22) of Karbi Anglong, Assam, A/P Jangnom village, Kangpokpi district.
Security forces also recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition from Uchol village and its surrounding foothill areas under Andro PS in Imphal East during a search operation conducted on January 22.
The seized items include one local-made barrel gun, one .22 rifle along with magazine, five No 36 hand-grenades without detonator, one Chinese hand-grenade, thirty rounds of live ammunition of different calibers, four tube launching devices, two BAOFENG wireless sets with two chargers, three tear smoke shells, one rubber bullet shell, two IEDs weighing approximately 2 kgs each, three arming rings, one tear smoke grenade, two helmets and one SLR magazine, said a press note issued by Police Control Room.
