Poppy destroyed

SENAPATI, Jan 23 : Ten acres of poppy plantations were destroyed and three huts were burnt today during a drive conducted at Shirong Hill Range, Phaibung-PS, Senapati district under the initiative of the Senapati District Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF).
A case has been registered at Phaibung PS.
The poppy destruction drive was carried out under the supervision of Addl SP (NH-2) (Nodal Officer of ANTF) and under the overall supervision of SP, Senapati.
The combined team was led by OC, Maram PS and consisted of personnel from Maram PS, Phaibung PS, F-36 and C-142 CRPF and the Executive Magistrate.
Meanwhile Forest officials of Senapati Forest Division provided drone support for aerial reconnaissance during the operation.
