MLA notes JCI's contributions

IMPHAL, Jan 28 : Junior Chamber International (JCI) Imphal Iconics is gaining recognition among the people of Manipur for their humanitarian services over the last five years, said Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency MLA Khumukcham Joykisan.
He made the statement at a free dental check up and treatment camp held at Kalibari, Thangal Bazar, Imphal organised by JCI Imphal Iconics in collaboration with the State Non-Communicable Disease Division and District NCD Cell Imphal West, Dental College, RIMS and Kalibari Committee.
The camp was attended by Dr B Praveen Reddy, Principal, Dental College, RIMS, dentists and staff from Dental College, RIMS and members of JCI Imphal Iconics.
Speaking on the occasion, Kh Joykisan lauded JCI Imphal Iconics for their efforts in the realm of public service.
Listing their humanitarian work, he said the all-women group has provided assistance to IDPs who have been uprooted by the Manipur crisis.
They have built a public toilet at MG Avenue, provided aid to old age homes and children homes and handed over wheelchairs and hearing aids to physically challenged individuals. During the COVID-19 pandemic, JCI Imphal Iconics also distributed eatables and cooked meals at various spots.
He expressed hope that the group will continue their humanitarian work in the future.
 According to Sheetal Jain, treasurer, JCI Imphal Iconics, around 100 persons received dental consultation and treatment at today's camp. Screenings for hypertension and diabetes mellitus were also conducted. Other JCI Imphal Iconics members present at the camp include president Jhupai Kar, IPP Deepika Jain, secretary Suman Jain and chairpersons Sabita Choudhary and Madhu Sahu.
