9th Federation Cup Wushu Championship-2025 State Wushu team return with rich haul of 29 medals

IMPHAL, Jan 2 : Manipur Wushu team returned home with a rich haul of 29 medals including 11 gold from the 9th Federation Cup Wushu Championship-2025 that was held from December 24 to 30 in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh.
Asem Milky Chanu and Wahengbam Dayaluxmi shone with 3 goal medals each at the Championship by topping in Taolu events for Group C girls.
Varun Waikhom also grabbed 2 gold medals alone in the Group C boys’ Taolu events as Hanjabam Reinold claimed three medals- 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze in Group B Taolu events.
Kangabam Athoiba also won a gold and a silver medal in the Group C boys’ Taolu competition.
Huidrom Priyojit, meanwhile emerged the lone Sanda gold medallist from the State as he finished on top of the Senior men’s -65 kg category.
Lourembam Chingkheinganba (U-11 Boys’ -30 kg), Asem Yaiphaba (Jr -52 kg), Ashem Drubraj (Jr -56 kg), Atom Rakesh (Senior -75 kg), and Nongmaithem Naresh (Senior -60 kg) settled for the silver medals in the Sanda competition as Asem Amarjit (Sub-Jr U-14 -48 kg), Thongam Inao (Senior -70 kg), Yengkhom Lingjenthoibi (Sub-Jr U11 -32 kg), Premeshori (Sub-Jr U14 -48 kg), Athokpam Gracy (Jr -48 kg), Puyam Jeenita (Jr -65 kg), Sandhya Gurung (Sr -60 kg), Puthem Sonia (Sr -70 kg), Nongmaithem Malemnganba (Sub-Jr U14 -56 kg) won Sanda bronze.
Haobijam Tomthinnganbi also won a bronze medal in the Taolu competition.
W Birahari led the team as Taolu coach cum manager alongside A James as Sanda coach.
