XXII Manipur Veteran Cricket YCC overcome LCCC by 5 wickets to keep quarter-final hopes alive

IMPHAL, Jan 2 : YCC, Wangkhei kept their quarter-final hopes alive as they beat LCCC, Lilong Chajing by 5 wickets in the penultimate Group A match of the ongoing XXII Manipur Veteran Cricket for their second win in four matches.
Bijen struck a half century (57-ball 58) followed by Ibotomba 30 off 39 and Satyajit 29 off 43 to help LCCC post 169/7 after winning the toss and electing to bat first.
Their effort however went in vain as YCC fought their way to the target in 28.2 overs with 5 wickets left to spare thanks to Everest’s unbeaten 42 off 28 balls and significant contributions from Winkan 28 off 17, Bibishan 25 off 34, and Itombi 22 off 47.
Everest 2/29, Gunindro 2/20, Sanjit Sharma 1/18 and Winkan 1/20 were among the wickets for YCC in the first innings before Dipak 3/31, Ashok 1/23, Krishnakumar 1/40 shared five wickets for LCCC in the YCC innings.
Everest of YCC who shone with both the bat and ball was eventually adjudged man of the match.
