18th Manipur State League MPSC thrash Elite FA 4-1 for fourth win

IMPHAL, Jan 30 : Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) defeated Elite FA by 4-1 goals to extend their winning run in the 18th Manipur State League Group C to four games and unbeaten run to five games.
MPSC, who beat Utlou FC 1-0 for their third win in four games in the previous outing, made a brilliant start with the midfielders and the forwards making a series of brilliant runs to trouble Elite FA defenders.
Their efforts paid off and eventually took the lead after 15 minutes courtesy of Akbar Khan before Khem Bahadur doubled the advantage in the 29th minute.
After leading the first half 2-0, MPSC further extended their lead to 3-0 after 63 minutes thanks to Rohit, who netted his second 6 minutes later to make it 4-0.
SM Jabit, who subbed in for Salam Nganba in the 37th minute, found the consolation goal for Elite FA 1 minute into the stoppage time (90+1’).
Notably, it was Elite FA’s fifth straight loss in the 24-team competition organised by the All Manipur Football Association at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.
PATHAP FC will play TRUGPU in the next match (Group C) on February 1. The match starts at 9.30 am.
