On the whole, this film has said all what it wants to say. Starting from the story line, the dialogues and the scripts along with the tunes of the songs do their assigned tasks to the satisfaction of the viewers. Full credit can be given to the director of the film under whose guidance natural acting and constant touch with reality are perceptible. Instances of superb directorial acumen are discernible. The screenplay is excellent. Without losing much time it compresses the whole gamut of the story, the plots and the situations with a skilful connecting link showing superlative dexterity. All the actors taking leading roles act well. The background music performs its assigned tasks expressing always the moods and emotions of the scene that are quite suited to the occasions. The songs are well-tuned and can be credited to be good ones.
A film quite in consonance with the Meitei way of life, its ethos and cultures can be treated as an apt device to showcase its identity to the unknowing "outside" The insertion of a scene of Meitei Lai Haraoba on the wedding night of the protagonists speaks volumes of Meitei belief in human creation. One thing which deserves special mention is that of the camera. Locating hidden landscapes and exposing them to the public with full view in the broad sunlight and again capturing the silhouettes like that of a Meitei girl dancing in the Meitei traditional attire are all superb works of a high class cameraman. But the services of the story writer in bringing up the status of the film to such heights can never be ignored, Really she has done a great work with a grand finesse.
The acting of Ethoi in the role of Thaballeima is superb. Her forebearance and fortitude makes her the beloved of the viewers. Ratna in the role of Malika does her part extraordinaraly  well. Avi as the male Protagonist does full justice in his role.
The film deserves wide acclamation. It is only worthy that this film receives many awards both national and international. The awards are :
