IMPHAL, Jan 4 : AKSDO, Khangabok and KASC, Khomidok emerged victorious in today’s matches of the ongoing 5th MNCA Superplate Tournament 2025-26.
Akash Laishram starred with a 92 quickfire off 75 balls to help AKSDO bounce back with a 15-run win in the Group B league match staged at Khudeiband Lampak, Taothong.
Thanks to the big half century from Akash who clobbered 10 fours and 2 sixes today and notable contributions from Laishram Samson 35 off 41 (4 fours), Khundongbam Khamba 33 off 31 (4 fours), and Winchelly Laishram 20 off 24 (1 six), the toss winners AKSDO were able to post 208 for all wickets down in 34.1 overs.
Saikhom Kaiku (3/32 in 7 overs), Laishram Roshan (2/27 in 7 overs), Saikhom Lanchenba (2/35), and Laishram Rohit (2/26 in 5 overs) then bowled out NCA who produced a spirited late fightback courtesy of RK Robertson’s 32-ball 56, for 193 runs in 34 overs.
RK Robertson (3/43 in 6.1 overs), RK Amarjeet (2/33 in 7 overs), and L Sadananda (2/32 in 7 overs) earlier shared 7 wickets for NCA before Konthoujam Roshan 24 off 26, Moirangthem Karamachand 21 off 22, RK Amarjeet 19 off 13, and Y Bobby 17 off 44 toiled hard in the chase.
Akash Laishram, who led AKSDO to second win in three matches, was eventually adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College Ground, KASC ended their 2-game winless run in the Group A competition by defeating KSDO, Kyamgei a 47-run defeat.
Bm Irfan produced the man of the match performance in this match for KASC as he added the highest 46 off 51 balls studded with 5 fours to lead his team to 156/10 before claiming three wickets (3/6 in 2.4 overs) to set up KSDO collapse at 109 within 26.4 overs.
Md Ali Karim 29 off 33, Bm Afsar 25 off 24, and M Sarfaraz 17 off 14 also made significant contributions as KASC were asked to bat first by KSDO.
Lakimbur 3/16, Abd Al Aziz 2/20, and Sangomshumpham Shah Nawaz 2/38 led the successful bowling campaign for KSDO today but their batting department faltered in the face of fierce bowling performances from KASC’s Bm Irfan 3/6, Md Sakif Hussain 2/31, Md Anjum MM 2/15, and Bm Afsar 2/21.
Md Akhtar Rahman topscored for KSDO with 29 runs off 30 balls followed by Md Raish Raza 14 off 29 and Abd Al Aziz 12 off 14 as 8 batters ended up scoring single digit scores.
Bm Irfan of KASC was eventually adjudged player of the match.
