'Manipur Pride MMA: The Rise of Warriors 1' coming this April

IMPHAL, Jan 4 : Bonjovi MMA and Fitness today announced a big MMA event titled- “Manipur Pride MMA: The Rise of Warriors 1” scheduled to be held in April this year.
The event was officially announced during a press meet held today at Imphal’s Hotel Classic Grande.
Speaking to the media, Professional MMA fighter Nongmaithem Bonjovi said that the event has been planned to showcase State’s Mixed Martial Arts prowess and give a platform to amateur athletes to showcase their hidden talents to the world.
The event will not only feature State athletes but also renowned MMA athletes of the North East region, he said.
Noting that there is no dearth of MMA talents in the State but lack of support and proper channel have forced many to let their talents go to waste, he said while adding that the event aims to lessen the plights faced by the MMA athletes and provide a stepping stone to bigger platforms.
The event will begin with amateur bouts on April 3 before professional fighters join the next day, he said.
To make the event smooth, selection and screening of fighters will be completed before a week of the event schedule, he said while inviting intending MMA fighters to reach out to the officials of the Bonjovi MMA and Fitness for further details.
