U-15 Women’s One Day Trophy : Manipur go down by 160 runs to Uttar Pradesh

IMPHAL, Jan 4 : Manipur slumped to a huge 160-run loss to Uttar Pradesh in their second Elite Group D match of the U-15 Women’s One Day Trophy at JU Second Campus, Salt Lake, Kolkata today.
Electing to bat first, Uttar Pradesh posted a commanding total of 261 runs for 2 wickets in the allotted 35 overs courtesy of blistering unbeaten knocks from Kavyaa Bhaandoh (124 off 88; 18 fours and 1 six) and skipper Yashika (97 off 101; 13 fours).
Chasing 262 for the win, Manipur however fell flat at 101 in 31.2 overs despite Viviene’s fighting 36-ball 39 as Kalpana (5/35 in 7 overs) led the demolition job for Uttar Pradesh.
Th Alice (1/27) and Linthoi (1/47) were among the wickets for Manipur in the first innings before the forgettable chase.
Manipur will play Delhi in the next match on January 6.
