22nd Manipur Veteran Cricket CHAMP post 6-wicket win over BSC-B

IMPHAL, Jan 5 : CHAMP, Khagempalli recorded a 6-wicket win over BSC-B, Brahmapur Lalji Lakpa Leikai to confirm their place in the quarterfinals of the 22nd Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament from Group D.
BSC-B won the toss and opted to bat first. They were however bundled out for 97 runs in 27.3 overs by CHAMP who cruised to the target within 16.5 over with 6 wickets left to spare.
Kiran scored the highest 36 for BSC-B in the first innings that saw CHAMP’s Naresh (3/23), Uttam (2/26), and Ajit (2/18) sharing 7 crucial wickets and set up the BSC-B collapse.
In reply, CHAMP had a stuttering start but Hemanta who came in at number 4 anchored with an unbeaten 43 off 49 balls to steer the team to the victory. Dippu, Banikanta, and Premkumar claimed a wicket apiece for BSC-B in this innings.
Naresh of CHAMP, who enjoyed a three wicket haul and set up the big win, was declared player of the match.
