MPSC, Sainik FC register convincing wins in 18th Manipur State League

IMPHAL, Jan 5 : Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) and Sainik School Imphal Old Boys’ Football Club (Sainik FC) register commanding victories in Group C matches of the 18th Manipur State League 2025-26 that resume today at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.
In the 12th match of the tournament, MPSC prevailed 3-0 over Pathap FC courtesy of a hattrick from Akbar Khan to kick off their league campaign in style.
Akbar Khan earned MPSC a slender 1-0 first half lead by scoring the opener in the 22nd minute before scoring his second in the 73rd minute. He then completed his hattrick by converting a penalty in the 86th minute and eventually sealed the 3-0 win.
Later in the day, Sainik FC sealed their second straight win by thrashing Elite FA by 4-1 goals.
Sainik FC, who pulled off a 1-0 win over FC Lamjao in the previous match, enjoyed a 3-0 first half lead courtesy of goals coming from Saranso Tabronyu (5’), Ningombam Abhijit (36’), and Naorem Klose (40’).
Elite FA who remained under pressure for major portion of the game pulled back a goal in the 83rd minute through Dijipou Pamei but Renedy Hidam who subbed in for Saranso Tabronyu made sure Sainik FC walk home 4-1 by scoring a goal three minutes into the stoppage time (90+3’).
