IMPHAL, Jan 8 : TCMDC, Thongju crushed CDCC, Sagolband by 108 runs as AKSDO, Khangabok beat WYC, Wangkhem by 5 wickets to extend their winning run to three games in the 5th MNCA Superplate Tournament.
In the Group A match staged at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, TCMDC rode on Laishram Vivekananda’s 81-ball 109 quickfire to post a commanding total of 251 runs for 8 wickets and restricted CDCC to 143 within 27.4 overs courtesy of a concerted bowling effort to earn the huge win.
Suraj 40 off 25, Arshad Ali 29 off 41, Rain 18 off 21, and Kalyan Sharma 14 off 18 also managed significant scores as TCMDC won the toss and opted to bat first.
For CDCC, Fm Sharif (3/38 in 7 overs) and Khurshid Alam (2/40) shared 5 wickets as Devis and Lanchenba picked a wicket apiece before Devish 40 off 48, Robert 31 not out off 20, and Gulson 20 off 24 emerge the leading scorers in the chase.
Kalyan (3/24) and Suraj (3/27) led the demolition job for TCMDc in this innings as Vishwonath claimed two wickets (2/12), and Arbin and Valindra shared the other two.
L Vivekananda of TCMDC who clobbered 9 fours and 7 sixes on the way to his century was adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground, AKSDO sealed their third Group B win in four matches by handing WYC, Wangkhem a 5-wicket defeat.
WYC, who won the toss and chose to bat first, posted 134/9 in the allotted 34 overs riding on key knocks from Thoudam Roshankumar 19 not out off 27, Th Priyananda 18 off 26, and Wangkhem Laksmon 16 off 29 but AKSDO rode on Moirangthem Chinglensana 35 off 51, Bishorjit 23 off 39, Khamba Khundongbam 23 not out off 29, and Saikhom Kaiku 21 not out off 13 to post 137/5 within 26.3 overs with 5 wickets left to spare. Kaiku was the pick of the AKSDO bowlers earlier in the first innings (3/24) and eventually emerged player of the match. L Akash (2/19), L Rosan (2/27), and Saikhom Lanchenba (2/26) were also among the wickets for AKSDO before Mutum Sushil (2/26), N Ruhit (1/9), W Laksmon (1/23), and Th Roshankumar (1/10) shared 5 wickets for WYC.
