Foundation Day celebrated

IMPHAL, Jan 9 : All Manipur Nupi Marup (AMNM) celebrated its 86th Foundation Day at Irawat Bhawan, BT Road on Wednesday.
The celebration was graced by AMNM president S Sarojini, vice president W Bhanu and   National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW) vice president M Sakhi as presidium members.
At the event, AMNM general secretary Sh Purnimashi said that AMNM was established to create a society free of oppression in the aftermath of the second Nupi Lan movement which erupted on December 12, 1939.
She asserted that since its inception in 1940, AMNM has worked consistently for the empowerment and upliftment of women with special focus on education of rural women.
