IMPHAL, Feb 1 : The Joint Committee Haraorou Protected Forest Area organised a public awareness march today to advocate for the preservation of local forests and wildlife.
The procession, which started from Haraorou and circled the Haraorou Protected Forest Area, carried important messages to the community, including “Do not cut trees”, “Do not kill animals and birds”, “Do not start forest fires”, and “Do not illegally clear forest land”.
Following the march, Thangjam Sanjoy, secretary of the Joint Committee Haraorou Protected Forest Area, stated that the march was organised because the current low rainfall makes it essential to protect the forests.
He asserted that the march was aimed at raising awareness and ensure the survival of local wildlife and the natural habitat.
