Forum condoles death of four migrant workers
IMPHAL, Feb 1: The North-East United Forum Bengaluru has condoled the demise of four workers from Assam in Hoskote, Bengaluru on January 31.
The four male workers from Lakhimpur district, Assam are identified as Dhananjoy Taid (22), Nirendra Nath Taid (23), Doctor Taid (19), and Jayanta Chintey (23).
The four were employed at a Coca-Cola warehouse. They were found dead in a rented room at Hoskote under mysterious circumstances.
Postmortem findings (preliminary) have indicated presence of high levels of carbon monoxide in all four bodies. It is suspected that the deaths may have occurred due to carbon monoxide inhalation in a closed room with insufficient ventilation. The final cause of death will be confirmed only after the official postmortem reports are released, said the North-East United Forum Bengaluru in a statement.
"We remain committed to ensuring a thorough, transparent and unbiased investigation. We are in constant coordination with the local police and investigating authorities," said the organisation, expressing condolences to the bereaved families, and sharing their grief and sorrow.
