Koireng-led UNLF observes MPA raising day

IMPHAL, Feb 9: The Koireng-led UNLF celebrated the 39th raising day of its armed wing, Manipur People’s Army (MPA) at the party’s Central Headquarters, MPA GHqs, training centre, tactical headquarters, external and regional affairs headquarters, LAKSA, KANGLEI, party’s district headquarters and valley units today.
According to a press release issued by the outfit’s Secretary of Publicity M Shak-Hen, the main features of the raising day celebrations were observing a two-minute silence in honour of the martyrs who had laid down their lives in the course of the liberation movement, offering of floral tributes to the martyrs and reading out of the Military Affairs Committee’s annual statement.
Following the footsteps of the party’s founders and mentors who strongly believed that the journey of revolution is a journey of sacrifice and hard struggle, the MPA fighters renewed their pledge to carry on the armed campaign until Manipur is liberated from the alleged colonial yoke, it said.
The outfit has also conveyed gratitude to all the people who contributed in different forms toward successful celebration of the MPA raising day as well as those people who took part in the celebration.
