FC Imphal overwhelm MUFA 6-1, to meet YWC-L in title clash

IMPHAL, Feb 10 : FC Imphal will lock horns with YWC-L in the title clash of the U-19 Women’s Football Tournament being underway at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.
FC Imphal prevailed 6-1 over Manipur United FA (MUFA) in the one sided second semi-final match to set up the final date with YWC-L today.
Loktongbam Shelia (12’), Herina Basumatary (31’) and Thongam Reshma (44’) were on target to earn FC Imphal a 3-0 first half lead before Athokpam Luxmi made it 4-0 after 70 minutes.
Leihaorungbam Sanathoi further extended the lead to 5-0 after 75 minutes before MUFA found the consolation goal in the 78th minute through Thokchom Yaiphabi.
A Luxmi however made sure FC Imphal walked away 6-1 winners by hitting the final nail to the MUFA’s coffin two minutes into the stoppage time (90+2’).
The final match is slated for February 16 at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium. The match starts at 1.30 pm.
