IMPHAL, Feb 10 : SFC, Sora overcame SWC, Keirak in a five goal final thriller to lift the title of the 19th DSA Trophy State Level Invitation Football Tournament organised by DSA Kakching at its playground.
With the title trophy in sight, SWC and SFC produced a neck and neck competition from the beginning and entered into the break with the score locked at 1-1.
SFC were first to break the deadlock with Md Riyas Khan finding the target in the 18th minute before S Malemnganba scored the equaliser for SWC in the 38th minute. SFC however surged ahead after the restart with two back to back goals coming from Md Riyas Khan and Epham Nawaz Khan in the 53rd and the 55th minute to enjoy a 3-1 lead.
SWC managed to reduce the margin by 1 goal in the 64th minute through E Abhinash but they failed to sustain the momentum as SFC successfully thwarted their attempts to restore parity.
SFC eventually walked away Rs 50,000 richer and a trophy while SWC settled for the runners up prize of Rs 30,000 and a trophy.
Best manager Yengkhom Kiran of UCC, highest goal scorer Elangbam Abhinash of SWC, best goalkeeper Md Sajid of SFC, best midfielder Yambem Lanthoiba of SWC, man of the tournament Elangbam Abhinas of SWC, fair play team UCC, best defender Wangambam Bipinchandra of SWC, man of the final match Epham Nawas Khan of SFC, youngest player Achom Chingkhuba of AKSA, best referee Rajesh Telen Kom of DSA Kakching, best assistant referee H Ajoy Singh and best coach Moirangthem Ashok of SWC were also feted with a cash prize of Rs 2,000 each.
