34th Manipur State Taekwondo Championship 2026 UTA top Cadet Boys’ tally with 11 medals, PTA sub-junior girls’ reign supreme

IMPHAL, Feb 10 : UTA secured 11 medals including 3 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze medals to top the Cadet Boys’ medal tally in the 34th Manipur State Taekwondo Championship 2026 being underway at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium.
UTA’s Y Nongpoknganba got the better of compatriot N Neljit to seal the +65 kg category gold medal for Cadet boys as Raischa Pukhrambam bagged the U-65 kg category gold by defeating TSL’s S Boynao in the final.
N Samson meanwhile defeated L Jaswan of TTS Nambol in the U-53 kg category competition to seal the third gold medal for UTA.
PTA meanwhile finished in the second spot with 2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals across various weight categories in the Cadet boys’ competition.
Thoihenba Ahanthem sealed the U-41 kg category gold by getting better of UTA’s Yumnam Thoihenba as K Kangleinganba sealed the other gold medal for the unit in the U-45 kg category competition by getting better of LTA’s Oinam Suman in the final.
LTA also put up a strong effort to finish with 2 gold 1 silver and 1 bronze medal in the age group competition with Khumanthem Lanchenba beating Thoudam Khagemba of ASTA for the U-57 kg category title and Lourembam Henba beating TTS’ Nambol’s Louriyam Lanchenba in the U-61 kg category final.
Sukham Tondonba of ASTA (U-49 kg), Moirangthem Darwin of TTS Nambol (U-33 kg) and NSA’s Ngasepam Yohenba (U-37 kg) also emerged winners in their respective weight categories.
PTA reign supreme in sub-junior girls’ competition
PTA sub-junior girls’ team emerged on top of the competition today securing as many as 6 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals across 13 weight categories as UTA finished second position with 3 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals.
PTA’s Huidrom Malemthoibi earned the U-35 kg category gold medal today by defeating Langlen Khaidem of YPC in the final before her compatriot Naorem Lingjel picked the u-38 kg category gold by beating UTA’s Senjam Landai in the final.
Thoudam Lamnganbi (U-16 kg), Thoudam Lanchenbi (U-24 kg), Laishram Tansileena (U-26 kg) and Sanoujam Ananya (U-32) also picked gold medals for PTA today.
Meanwhile, Nongleima Rajkumar of UTA beat W Osima for the U-18 kg category title before compatriots Thokchom Yaisana beat Soibam Thadoi Chanu for the U-22 kg category title and Sarangthem Lanthoi beat Tourangbam Liyamica for the U-29 kg crown.
UST’s Yumnam Yailoulembi (U-20 kg), LTA’s Ahongsangbam Rina (U-41 kg), LTA’s Konthoujam Velona (U-47 kg) and TSL’s Potsangbam Menaka (+47 kg) also sealed gold medals today in their respective weight categories for sub-junior girls.
