PTRC, TRAU extend winning run in 10th MNCA Elite Trophy

IMPHAL, Feb 11 : PTRC, Patsoi and TRAU, Kwakeithel sealed their second straight wins today in the ongoing 10th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Trophy 2025-26.
At Lairenjam Public Ground, PTRC who defeated CYCLONE, Thangmeiband in the opening game by 26 runs, got the better of CHAMP Cricket Club (CHAMP CC), Khagempalli by 82 runs for the second straight win.
Jotin Pheiroijam produced yet another stellar performance in the top tier tournament by smashing a 68-ball 105 (9 fours and 6 sixes) to take PTRC to 217 in 38.1 overs despite losing his companions in regular interval.
Andy Mandingbam also added 44 off 64 balls to the PTRC’s tally as Md Ahsanul Kabir (3/30), Md Sultan Karim (3/42) and Chingakham Ranjan (2/38) impressed with the ball for CHAMP CC.
In reply, CHAMP folded up for a paltry total of 135 runs in 34.5 overs as Tamarland Pheiroijam ran through the middle order and walked away with a four wicket haul (4/24) while RK Rex (2/20), Jotin (1/24), K Bishworjit (1/15), Khundrakpam Punshiba (1/35) and Ngariyanbam Johnson (1/12) shared the remaining 6 wickets.
Jotin was eventually named player of the match.
Elsewhere at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground, TRAU notched up a commanding 84-run victory over Model Club, Singjamei Chingamakha.
TRAU raised a respectable total of 243 runs thanks to Kangabam Priyojit’s leading knock of 83 off 82 balls and contributions from P Prafullomani 43, M Behul 31 before going down in 38.5 overs. They successfully defended their total by bundling out Model Club for 159 runs in 34.4 overs despite Anand Naorem posting an unbeaten 55 off 59 balls (8 fours) with TRAU’s Sanjembam Somokanta (4/41) and Ningthoujam Sanjit (3/25) sharing a bulk of 7 crucial wickets to throttle the chase.
Ningthoujam Sanjit who added 27 runs off 20 balls and picked three wickets to set up the huge win, was declared player of the match.
