IMPHAL, Feb 13: Security forces carried out area domination exercises in Litan and surrounding villages in Ukhrul today.
The exercises were carried out to prevent further violence and maintain peace in the area, said security forces.
Security personnel are keeping vigil round the clock in Litan and surrounding villages.
While no unwanted incidents occured in the area today, sources said some confrontation broke out between local people and security forces.
People have accused security forces of "allowing" arson to take place in Litan.
Security forces have blocked roads to prevent people's movement toward Litan village.
More than 50 houses, vehicles and other public properties have been burnt in the violent clash between members of Kuki and Naga communities at Litan since February 8.
The clashes erupted after a Tangkhul youth was assaulted by some members of Kuki community.
