IMPHAL, Feb 15 : KCC, Kongba Bazar defeated REYS, Nagamapal by 6 wickets for the third Group A win on the trot in the ongoing XIII T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament.
REYS won the toss and opted to bat first this afternoon at Langthabal Public Ground. But they faced stiff opposition from KCC bowlers and eventually folded up their innings at123 for the loss of 8 wickets.
KCC then rode on an unbeaten 67-run fifth wicket stand between Mahesh (24-ball 40) and Sonjoy (23 off 17 balls) to seal the victory in 17.2 overs.
For REYS, Kenny 38 and Thokchom Iboyaima 32 were the leading run getters as the duo provided a significant second wicket partnership of 63 balls today.
Chumthao (2/17), Bonny (2/24) and Robertson (2/19) shared 6 wickets for KCC in this innings before Robertson 29, Mahesh and Sonjoy earned the victory with ease,
Superjit, Iboyaima, Nongdren and Momo picked a wicket apiece for REYS.
Earlier in a Group D match, SU extended their winning run to two games by defeating SNC, Sangaiprou a 7 wicket defeat.
SU bundled out toss winners SNC for 85 runs within 17.1 overs as Bedamohon (3/22), Chingkheinganba (2/12), Sanjoy (2/7) and Jenius (2/12) impressed with the ball before Prameshwor produced an unbeaten 57 off just 37 runs to steer SU to the target in 11.1 overs with 7 wickets left to spare.
Rajen 22 and Guna 22 led the SNC scoring in the first innings before Romeshchandra returned with the best figures of 2/18 in a lost cause.
