IMPHAL, Feb 16: In the wake of the violent clash between Angami people and Kukis at Maova village in Chumoukedima district of Nagaland, the Chakhroma Youth Organisation (CYO) has summoned the Chairman of Maova Village Council to appear before Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) leaders in person within seven days.
Violence broke out between the two communities at Maova village on February 13, 2026 and it left 26 people injured apart from damaging/destroying properties worth lakhs of rupees.
In connection with the violent confrontation, the CYO today issued an ultimatum asking the Chairman of Maova Village Council to appear before CPO leaders in person along with Seiboi Changsan, GB and individuals responsible for the violent incident at CPO Hall Chumoukedima Town for necessary clarification and settlement.
The ultimatum said that certain miscreants from Maova village were involved in the planned, pre-meditated attack on the CPO president and colleagues using catapults, rocks and projectiles on February 13, 2026 when they had gone to Maova village in good faith to hold peaceful dialogue, resulting in grievous injury to CPO leaders and volunteers.
This is unacceptable, the CYO said.
Asking the Maova village chairman to comply with its ultimatum within seven days (latest by February 23, 2026), the CYO warned that failure to comply with the ultimatum will compel the organisation to take appropriate decisions and actions under Angami customary law and established resolutions.
