IMPHAL, Feb 17: The fate of Manipur lies with its youths, and therefore they must take up the responsibility themselves to resolve the ongoing conflict and usher in peace, said Major General Anurag Vij, Additional Director General (ADG) of NCC Directorate North Eastern Region, Shillong.
He said this speaking to media persons during his visit to NCC Group Imphal today.
While the country is moving ahead, Manipur has been left behind due to problems it is facing, Anurag said.
For Manipur to be a part of the country's growth, the youths must decide and act to solve the problems, he said.
Anurag said the State has lost many good opportunities due to the ongoing crises.
He said the NCC Group Imphal is one of the best units in the North East, and it has made tremendous contributions to the State.
While the NCC Group's contribution has declined in the last couple of years due to the crises, it has taken the necessary steps to improve and perform at its best, Anurag said.
Anurag said, "Our cadres have entered the Army, Navy and Airforce as officers and Agniveers".
He said NCC cadres have excelled in many National level competitions in shooting.
