18th Manipur State League MPSC overcome FC Lamjao 4-2 for fifth win

IMPHAL, Feb 17 : MPSC defeated FC Lamjao by 4-2 goals to seal their fifth win and remain unbeaten in 6 Group C matches of the ongoing 18th Manipur State League at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.
MPSC rode on a treble from Yumnam Mahesh (9’, 34’, 90+1’) and a solitary goal from Akbar Khan (17’) to seal the 4-2 win against FC Lamjao this afternoon.
For FC Lamjao, Ningthoujam Arnold (42’) and Mahesh Yumnam (63’) found a goal apiece each side of the break.
With the result, MPSC go top of the Group C table on 16 points.
Earlier in the first match of the day, NEROCA FC extended their winning run to four games in 6 matches that also included a draw, by handing PATHAP FC a 2-0 defeat.
Wahengbam Abinash found the lead in the 10th minute before Md Ruhid Khan scored the decisive goal in the 67th minute.
In the third match staged in the afternoon, Elite FA ended their five game losing run by thrashing TRUGPU 5-1. Jim Baseimayum starred with a treble (35’, 79’, 84’) for Elite FA as Wahengbam Amekar (10’) and Lairenjam Lairenjam Sushil (88’) contributed a goal each.
The consolation goal for TRUGPU was scored by Huidrom Jotin in the 70th minute.
