IMPHAL, Feb 18 : REYS, Nagamapal and YWC, Langthabal (YWC-L) posted their third wins in four matches today in the 10th W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Trophy.
At Lairenjam Public Ground, REYS prevailed over KCC, Kongba Bazar by 7 wickets thanks to bowlers.
REYS chose to field first and bundled out KCC for 90 runs in 31.1 overs with Kiran Laishram (3/14), Ringku Kangujam (3/14) and Sapam Bikash (2/34) sharing 8 wickets in their spell of 8 overs.
REYS then cruised to the target in 13.2 overs thanks to contributions from Md Basir 22 not out off 34 balls, Yambem Kaikuyamba 13, KKV Mustaque 13, Saddam Ahamed Shah 27 and Joychandra Thongam 5 not out off 5 balls.
Sohail Akram (1/10) and Naorem Victor (1/10) of REYS also picked a wicket apiece in the first innings that saw Nongmaithem Dijiraj 19, Keisham Mranojit 17, Thokchom Nishikanta 15 and Wahengbam Somorjit 14 making double digit runs.
Nameirakpam Arbin (1/22), W Somorjit (1/36) and Nandeibam Singthoi (1/9) were among the wickets for KCC in a lost cause.
Elsewhere at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground, YWC posted 211 runs for all wickets down in 39.5 overs before dismissing CRAU, Khamnam Bazar for 184 runs in 38.1 overs despite Sougaijam Robinson scoring a 110-ball 95 and Lamabam Jotin firing 41 off 34 balls.
Choosing to bat first, YWC raised the modest total riding on a half century from Jiko Sorokhaibam (50 off 67 balls) and useful contributions from Ngangbam Bikramjit 37 off 51 balls, Yenshenbam Vivek 30 off 16 balls.
The innings saw Takhellambam Kala (3/31), Bm Sabakhan (2/48) and Ayekpam Rakesh (2/28) sharing 7 crucial wickets for CRAU before they collapsed at 184 despite Robinson and Jotin providing a solid start by forging 78 runs for the first wicket.
One down batter, Johny Kh also made 33 off 40 balls but things went downhill as Soubam Robinson swept the middle order batters on the way to his haul of three wickets (3/35 in 8 overs) before Maibam Subash cleaned up the tail to return with 3/30 in his spell of 5.1 overs.
