YPHU-W, CYCLONE win in Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament

IMPHAL, Feb 18 : YPHU-W, Lalambung and CYCLONE, Thangmeiband emerged victorious in today’s matches of the ongoing XIII T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2026 at Langthabal Public Ground.
In the Group B match staged this morning, YPHU-W restricted toss winners NCA, Nambol to 99/7 in the allotted 20 overs and posted 101 runs in 12.1 overs with 8 wickets left to spare for the second win in three matches.
Ajit topscored for NCA with 46 not out off 37 balls in the first innings that saw Ponil (2/20) and Boicha (2/23) sharing four wickets to restrict the momentum.
In reply, Boicha 36 off 36 and Heromen 22 off 23 produced an unbeaten third wicket stand to fire YPHU-W past the 100-run mark.
Hemanta also made 22 off 13 balls for YPHU-W before he was undone for the first wicket by Govind of NCA who also got rid of incoming Kumarkanta on 4 for the second wicket.
Boicha of YPHU-W who produced an all round show was named man of the match.
Meanwhile in a Group C match staged later in the day, CYCLONE, Thangmeiband overcame YPHU-N, Lalambung by 11 runs for the three of three wins.
CYCLONE raised 123 runs for 6 wickets after electing to bat first and held YPHU-N to 112/9 to earn their third straight victory and snapped the latter team’s 2-game winning run.
Surjit shone with a 63-ball 64 while Robindro made 33 off 31 for CYCLONE in the first innings that saw Surjit of YPHU-N claiming three wickets (3/14).
In reply, YPHU-N failed to develop a sustainable partnership with Chinglensana (3/23) and Robindro (2/23) of CYCLONE striking in regular intervals and eventually folded up their chase at 112/9. Rajesh on 18 emerged the highest run getter for YPHU-N in this innings followed by Then Then 13, Dhaneshwor 12 and Jinta 12.
Robindro of CYCLONE shone with both the bat and ball, was adjudged man of the match.
