16th Loktak Trophy FC Kumbi extend winning run with 5-1 thrashing of AKSA

IMPHAL, Feb 1 : FC Kumbi thrashed AKSA, Kwakta by 5-1 goals for the second straight victory in the 16th Loktak Trophy being organised by the All Moirang Football Association under the sponsorship of NHPC, Loktak Power Station.
FC Kumbi, having sealed a huge 7-1 win over RFCC, Keinou in their league opener, carried forward their momentum to dominate both the possession and scoring chances today and eventually came out 5-1 winners.
Kh Taibanganba (14’, 42’, 76’) stole the show today as he netted three goals alone to set up the 5-1 win as Y Umakanta (11’) and S Sumit (55’) added a goal apiece.
Md Nagir Hussain scored the consolation goal for AKSA who were reduced to 10-man with Md Yunush picking up the second yellow card in the 89th minute.
As many as 6 teams are participating in this tournament being underway at Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School Playground. Utlou FC will play FC Kumbi in the next match on February 4.
