69th National School Games 2025-26 Fencing Haryana boys claim team foil gold, Karnataka boys take epee gold

IMPHAL, Feb 1 : Haryana beat Manipur for the boys’ team foil gold as Karnataka won the boys’ epee team gold by defeating Maharashtra on the fourth day of the 69th National School Games Fencing for U-19 boys and girls being underway at Indoor Stadium, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
Manipur team comprising Maisnam Satyaraj, Pangambam Yoihenba, Toijam Tamnganba and Loukrakpam Cityboy went down fighting to the Haryana team consisting of Tarun Sihag, Sachin, Yashraj and Anuj to settle for the silver medal in the foil competition today.
Chandigarh team featuring Lalitchandra Joshi, Charanjot Singh, Kamal Joshi and Aarush and Gujarat team featuring Vishvas Punambhai Chaudhary, Sisodiya Chandrarajsinh, Bhat Sunilkumar Rameshbhai and Kodiyatar Rajubhai Rambhai settled for the bronze medals in this competition.
In the epee team final, Poorna Chandra, Sushanth Surya, SB Cheran and Md Saklain of Karnataka got the better of Maharashtra team comprising Vidhate Siddhant, Atharv Rajendra Khot, Omkar Balasaheb Pawar and Pranav Sunil Chavan to win the gold.
Haryana team comprising Prabhkaran Singh, Prince Hooda, Smaar and Ansh Patel and Chandigarh team consisting of Nikhil Singh, Md Shahbaz, Pawan Upadhyay and Charanjot Singh shared the bronze medal podium in this event.
The CBSE team comprising Hemant Pandey, Prakhar Singh, Mukul Charaya and Abheer Soni and Haryana team comprising Yugam, Arush Duhan, Punit and Aarav Singh Goyat suffered semi-final losses in the sabre team competition for boys to settle for a bronze medal apiece.
Manipur win girls’ epee team bronze
Manipur epee girls’ team meanwhile settled for a bronze medal in the team competition as Punjab beat Maharashtra to seal the gold medal.
The gold medal winning Punjab team consist of Gursukhman Kaur Mann, Guranshveer Kaur, Amitoj and Harsirat Kaur while the Maharashtra team featured Mane Vaibhavi Prashant, Prajakta Pritam Pawar, Bhakti Sanjay Solanki and Apurva Ananda Kalakes.
The State team, who shared the bronze medal podium with Karnataka team, were made up of Lanchenbi Oinam, Konsam Jenita, Nganthoi Okram and Yaiphabi Pangambam. The day also saw Karnataka and Chandigarh settling for the bronze medal in the girls’ team sabre competition.
