7th Manipur International Women’s Polo Tournament South Africa set up final date with India Team-B

IMPHAL, Feb 1 : South Africa defeated Zambia by 8-6 goals in the crucial final league match of the 7th Manipur International Women’s Polo Tournament to set up the final date with India Team-B (Manipur) tomorrow at Mapal Kangjeibung.
South Africa, who played out two back to back draws to remain unbeaten in the 4-team tournament, registered the crucial win to finish league runners up to seal the remaining final ticket today courtesy of Spies Chrisna’s heroics.
Spies Chrisna scored five goals across the second and fourth chukkers to seal the victory as Cranje Ritali struck twice and Abraham Clair Bridge added one.
Brown Samantha Grace and Paterson Emily Jane hammered home three goals apiece in a lost cause for Zambia today.
The two sides entered the second chukker with the score locked at 1-1 as Brown Samantha Grace found the lead in the 7th minute (6:01) before Cranje Ritali (7:26) equalised 4 seconds away from the end of the first chukker.
 Spies Chrisna scored twice to earn South Africa a 3-2 lead in the second chukker as Brown Samantha Grace  added one before Cranje Ritali and Abraham Clair Bridge further extended the lead to 5-3 in the third chukker. Brown Samantha Grace scored her third in this chukker.
Spies Chrisna then hit three goals in the final chukker for the winners as Paterson Emily Jane responded with a treble for the losing side.
The tournament is being hosted by the All Manipur Polo Association
