IMPHAL, Feb 19 : Advocating for peace, Keishamthong AC MLA Nishikant Singh Sapam has stated that governance must reach every corner of the State.
Speaking to the media on the sideline of a benefit distribution programme at the Alternative Housing Complex at Game Village, Nishikant expressed admiration for the Chief Minister’s approach in handling the Manipur crisis, since President's Rule was lifted on February 4.
He commended the Chief Minister's focus on fostering unity among the 36 communities in Manipur and their collective responsibility to uphold the State's integrity.
In response to discussions about the proposed Cabinet meeting in Senapati district, the MLA dismissed any controversy over the venue.
"Senapati is also a part of Manipur. Why shouldn’t a Cabinet meeting be held there ?" he said, stressing that governance must be accessible to all regions of the State.
Nishikant further stated that Ministers travelling to attend the Cabinet meeting in Senapati will pass through Kangpokpi.
Administrative processes should not be disrupted by speculation or misinformation, he emphasised.
Highlighting the importance of reconciliation, the MLA reiterated that lasting peace can only be achieved through collective harmony.
"When every Manipuri is happy, Manipur will be happy," he said, calling for unity and mutual trust among all communities.
