IMPHAL, Feb 20 : Students of DM Community College have locked the offices of their Principal and former Nodal Officer in protest over their failure to submit a proposal to the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) for the recognition of the college courses.
Speaking to the media, one of the students stated that the Community College has had over 5,000 students to date, including those currently enrolled.
He emphasized that the lack of recognition by the NCAHP would jeopardize students' futures, as the certificates cannot be used to pursue master's degrees at other universities.
He urged the college authorities not to waste students' time and money.
The Vice Chancellor of DM University has also stated that there is no connection between the DM University and the Community College, he said.
Additionally, he mentioned that they have not been able to meet the former Nodal Officer of the Community College, Prof L Hemchandra, to discuss the issue.
Urging the authorities of the Community College to take immediate action to protect the students' careers, he stated that they would be forced to lock the Administrative Block of the college if their demand is not addressed.
