TRAU, CRAU script similar 3-wkt wins in Elite Trophy 2025-26

IMPHAL, Feb 20 : TRAU, Kwakeithel bounced back with 3-wicket win over YWC, Langthabal (YWC-L) in the ongoing 10th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Trophy 2025-26. CRAU, Khamnam Bazar also posted a similar win against KCC, Kongba Bazar in the other match of the day.
At Moijing Public Ground, TRAU, who were denied their fourth straight victory by ESU in the previous match, bundled out YWC-L for 160 runs in 38.3 overs before fighting their way to the target with just 3 wickets and 3 deliveries to spare.
After electing to bat first, YWC-L were slow off the blocks and lost wickets regularly with Mutum Swabhiman (3/26), Puinachandra (3/21), and Ningthoujam Sanjit (2/32) of TRAU inflicting the damage.
The only significant partnership was seen between Jiko Sorokhaibam (18 off 30 balls) and Heisnam Manikanta, who top-scored with 48 off 49 balls, as they forged 46 runs off 50 balls for the second wicket.
Somorjit Salam (1/45) and Sanjembam Somokanta (1/20) also picked a wicket apiece for TRAU.
In reply, TRAU rode on Pukhrambam Prafullomani 21 off 9 balls,  Behul Moibungkhongbam 29 off 69, Sanjenbam Somokanta 24 off 25 balls and Mutum Swabhiman 21 off 35 balls made significant contributions to keep the chase alive before Tyrus Chabungbam held on with an unbeaten 22 off 24 balls to seal the fourth victory for TRAU in five matches.
For YWC-L, Soubam Robinson (2/23), Pukhrambam Prasantamani (2/26) and Maibam Subash (2/36) shared 6 wickets as Heisnam Manikanta (1/24) chipped in one.
Elsewhere at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground, CRAU sealed their second win in five matches by beating KCC by 3 wickets.
KCC opted to bat first and raised 168/8 in the allotted 40 overs but CRAU cruised to the winning 171/7 in 39.1 overs riding on Robinson Sougaijam’s 79-ball 57 and contributions from Heisnam Joyhenba (27 not out off 22 balls) and Dennis Khangembam (20 off 34 balls).
Earlier in the first innings, Sunil Salam 43 off 40 balls, Keisham Basantakumar 29 off 35 balls, Nongmaithem Dijaraj 26 off 71 balls and Sanayai Ningthoujam 21 off 48 balls led the scoring for KCC. CRAU’s Heisnam Joyhenba returned with the best bowling figures of 3/40 in 8 overs as Bm Sabakhan (2/44) and Khumanthen Prakash (2/29) shared four wickets.
For KCC, Tayenjam Tomba (2/37) and Thokchom Nishikanta (2/20) led the bowling attack as Sunil Salam (1/41), Wahengbam Somorjit (1/19) and Nameirakpam Arbin (1/16) claimed a wicket apiece.
