4th ASMITA Weightlifting City League for Bishnupur concludes

IMPHAL, Feb 22 : The 4th edition of ASMITA Weightlifting City League for Bishnupur concluded successfully at SAI-STC, Utlou in Bishnupur district today.
The one day event saw women athletes in 8 different categories competing for top honours.
Kh Safiya of YSWA secured the women’s 48 kg category gold by producing a combined effort of 100 kg (43 in snatch and 57 in clean and jerk) as M Alina of NGCL (93 kg) and Th Linthoibi of KYPC (82 kg) finished second and third.
L Milky Chanu of SYA meanwhile sealed the 53 kg category title by recording a total lift of 125 kg (55 in snatch and 70 in clean and jerk) as A Bidyarani of YSWA (109 kg) and Ng Sonibala of NGCL (94 kg) settled for the silver and the bronze medal respectively.
Ritina Maibam of KYPC meanwhile bagged the 58 kg category gold by registering 60 kg in snatch and 70 kg in clean and jerk to post a combined effort of 130 kg. Ch Moniska of YSWA (93 kg) and Delta Pukhrambam of YUC (75 kg) on the other hand finished second and third in the same event.
Alvina Thounaojam of NGCL earned the 63 kg category gold as she posted a combined effort of 118 kg (53 kg in snatch and 65 kg in clean and jerk) as Sagolshem Lingjel of KYPC posted 85 kg lift to settle for the silver medal.
Th Preety of SYA meanwhile secured the 69 kg category gold by amassing 158 kg (70 in snatch and 88 in clean and jerk) as KYPC’s H Priyarani (129 kg) and YSWA’s L Chareihan (128 kg) settled for the silver and the bronze medals.
The 77 kg category gold went to Huidrom Gitanjali of NGCL who amassed 138 kg (63 in snatch and 75 in clean and jerk) while Julie Tingpui of YUC (94 kg) and Moirangthem Jiya of SYA (48 kg) made the 2-3 podium finishes.
The day also saw M Rama of SYA securing the 86 kg category gold by recording the best lifts of 73 kg in snatch and 93 kg in clean and jerk. Pebam Roshni of YSWA (96 kg) and N Tuljiya of KYPC (74 kg) were able to seal the silver and the bronze medals in this category.
