REYS crush LCCC by 8 wickets in XIII T20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament opener

IMPHAL, Feb 3 : REYS, Nagamapal pulled off an 8-wicket win over LCCC, Lilong Chajing in the opening match of the XIII T20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament being organised by the Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament at Langthabal Public Ground.
LCCC raised a total of 164 runs for 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs after electing to bat first but REYS fought their way to target with 2 wickets and 3 balls left to spare.
Sagolsem Kison 46 off 40 and Shahjahan 44 off 36 produced leading knocks for LCCC before Ibotomba remained unbeaten on 17 to take the team to the big total of 164/5.
REYS however had a solid start to the chase with Bonny and Kenny Ngairangbam forging 153 for the first wicket in 17.2 overs before Thokchom Iboyaima 3 not out and Jagjit 2 not out finished off the chase.
Bonny led the demolition job by blazing 89 off 56 balls as Kenny played second fiddle and contributed 40 off 51 to provide the stability.
Momo Thounaojam (2/24), RK Nongdren (1/30), Dhawan (1/42) and Thokchom Iboyaima (1/21) shared the five wickets for REYS earlier in the first innings as Karam Dipak Pathou (1/22) and L Bijen (1/30) shared a wicket apiece for LCCC.
Bonny who shone with the bat was adjudged man of the match.
