57 Kg of raw opium seized in CCpur

IMPHAL, Jan 3 : Security forces seized 57.7 Kg of raw opium Tuileluon Village under Sangaikot police station in Churachandpur today.
In a bulletin, police said that the opium was seized from one Thangminlan Zou (30) Teisaljang Village.
Following investigation, another person identified as Melody Lambu (36) of Pallel Bazar, presently living at T Khonomphai  village in Kote area of Churachandpur was arrested, it added.
Police also said security forces destroyed that 38 acres of illegal poppy plantation at Thawai Kuki hill range  under Litan police station in Ukhrul district.
It added that a larger cache of arms, ammo was recovered from Lambal Awang Leikai under Lamsang police station in Imphal West today.
