IMPHAL, Feb 7: Liquors worth over Rs 84 lakh were burnt and destroyed at the Excise Headquarters today.
The liquors, including different brands of IMFL, beers, wine and DIC, were seized by 13 Excise stations between October 30, 2025 and January 31, 2026.
The total value of the liquor destroyed today stood at Rs 84,01,583.
It included 8466.68 liters of IMFL worth Rs 50,80,008; 9,621.69 litres of beer worth Rs 28,86,507, 31.52 litres of wine worth Rs 12,608 and 4,224.60 litres of DIC worth Rs 4,22,460. The liquors were destroyed following an order issued by Hungyo Worshing, Commissioner of Excise, on February 2. The liquors were destroyed in presence of Excise Additional Commissioner Konsam Binku and several other officers of the department.
