2nd Dr Ksh Chourajit Singh Polo Tournament MPSC gallop into quarterfinals with 17-3 demolition of Thoubal District Polo Assn

IMPHAL, Feb 8 : The 2nd edition of Ksh Chourajit Singh Inter District Polo Tournament-2026 kicked off today at Mapal Kangjeibung under the supersivision of the Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association (MHRPA).
The tournament was formally opened in the presence of Moirangthem Nara, former Minister; RK Dilip, vice president, MHRPA; N Tombi Raj, former president, MHRPA and Ksh Lakshadeb as presidium members.
The opening match of the 10-team tournament organised in the single elimination format, MPSC overwhelmed Thoubal District Polo Association 17-3 to set up a quarterfinal date with Thangmeiband Youth PC.
MPSC came out all guns blazing to seal the huge win today as 6 of 6 players found their names on the scoresheet with S Bimol leading the way with 5 goals across the last three chukkers.
T Roshan and Th Ranjit scored two goals apiece and Viking Salam scored one to earn MPSC a 5-2 first chukker lead before S Bimol scored thrice and Viking Salam added one to make it 9-2 in the second chukker.
M Anildash and Pamheiba Thounaojam scored a goal apiece for the Thoubal District Polo Association in the first innings.
T Pradeepkumar, T Roshan, O Suresh and S Bimol then extended lead to 13-2 till the 58th second of the 6th minute in the third chukker before Pamheiba scored the third and final goal 10 seconds past the 6th minute to make it 3-13.
T Pradeepkumar then scored twice as T Roshan and S Bimol added a goal apiece in the final chukker to seal the comprehensive 17-3 win for MPSC.
Kakching District Polo Club will play Tekcham Polo Club in the first match tomorrow from 2 pm before Black Watch Polo Club take on Chingkheihunba Polo Club in a quarter final clash later in the day.
