REYS, YPHU-W in Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament quarterfinals

IMPHAL, Mar 9 : REYS, Nagamapal and YPHU-W, Lalambung secured their place in the quarterfinals of the XIII T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2026 with final league stage victories today.
In the final Group A match, REYS squeezed into the quarterfinals with a dramatic 130-run tie against LCC, Lamsang at Langthabal Public Ground this morning.
Toss winners LCC were dismissed for 130 runs in 18.4 overs after electing to bat first but REYS could amass only 130 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs to share a point apiece with the former team.
Despite the result, REYS finished Group A runners up and qualified for the final.
Suresh 48 and Kenedy 22 made the most of the runs for LCC today before they fell flat in the face of clinical bowling performances from Superjit (3/38) and Nongdren (2/6).
In reply, Kenny 39, Jagjit 27 and Iboyaima 23 set up early momentum but they fell short by a run to seal all three points with LCC bowlers doing their best to turn things around.
For LCC, Premjit returned with the best bowling figures of 2/15 as three others picked a wicket apiece.
Kenny of REYS was named man of the match.
Later in the final Group B match, YPHU-W beat UCC, Uripok by 69 runs to make the top two finish group stage finish.
They erected a competitive total of 155 runs for 5 wickets after electing to bat first and bundled out 10-man UCC for 86/9 within 11.2 overs to seal their third win in four matches riding on Heromen’s fifer (5/26).
Bikram scored an unbeaten 64 off 44 balls for YPHU-W today as Hemanta made 26 and Josan retired at 31.
Dhana, Manglem and Rajkumar picked a wicket apiece for UCC in the first innings before Hemit 16 emerged highest run getter for the team.
Boicha (2/19), Dularva (1/12) and Kumarkanta (1/0) were also among the wickets for YPHU in the second innings.
