MU announces teams for All India Inter University Wushu Tournaments

IMPHAL, Mar 10 : The Department of Sports, Manipur University has announced the names of the athletes selected to represent the university at the All India Inter University Wushu Tournaments to be hosted by the University of Kashmir from April 9 to 12.
The players who were shortlisted in the men and women’s teams are as follows.
Men’ Taolu (Optional)- Wahengbam Bhumeshwar of Biramangol College, Okram Iyathoi of Biramangol College, Th Jollyson of Biramangol College and Khangembam Prithiviraj of Kumbi College.
Men’s Taolu (Traditional)- Thoudam Devadatta of Modern College, Thongam Gunabanta of Imphal College, Samadram Balluxman of Regional College, Paikhomba Akoijam of Manipur College, Shitaljit Atom of Regional College, Bronson Samadram of Lilong Haoreibi College and Chungkham Suraj of Thoubal College.
Men’s Sanda : Nongmaithem Borish of Kumbi College (48 kg), Ningombam Deputson of Biramangol College (52 kg), Lourembam Yaiphaba of Kumbi College (56 kg), Naresh Nongmaithem of Kumbi College (60 kg), Hamom Sanayaima of Kumbi College (65 kg), Tayenjam Suraj of Pravabati College (70 kg), Thounaojam Shantikumar of Thoubal College (75 kg), Moirangthem Santanu of Kumbi College (80 kg), Maimom Bharatbhusan of Thoubal College (85 kg), Ajit Tongbram of Imphal College (90 kg) and Rajbihari Khundongbam of Thoubal College (90+ kg).
Women’s Taolu (Optional) : Tomthinnganbi Haobijam of TS Paul MW College, Olica Naorem of Biramangol College, Thingnam Sandeshwori of SSGG College and Nongthombam Velentina of Biramangol College.
Women’s Taolu (Traditional) : Yambem Shina of SSGG College, Nivenita Keisham of SSGG College, Huidrom Chaoba of Biramangol College, Waribam Silvia of SSGG College and Maibam Priyanka of Liberal College.
Women’s Sanda : Leishangthem Marika of Thoubal College (45 kg), Khwairakpam Chaoba of Kakching Khunou College (48 kg), Brahmacharimayum Tamphasana of Kumbi College (52 kg), Khundrakpam Dollylex of TS Paul MW College (56 kg), Ningthoujam Abenao of Kumbi College (60 kg), Puyam Jenita of Regional College (65 kg), Elangbam Italy Chanu of Biramangol College (70 kg) and Toijam Kabita of CI College (75 kg).
The selected players were further instructed to report to the Assistant Director of Sports, MU on March 25 by 11.30 am for further directives.
