THOUBAL, Mar 10: Denouncing non-supply of drinking water since 2021, a Joint Action Committee (JAC) in Lilong has announced indefinite closure of the National Highway 102 (Imphal-Moreh) from 5 pm of March 11.
Water pipes from Lilong Bazar to Lilong Ushoipokpi area were affected by the expansion of the Highway in 2021. However, these pipes have not been fixed till today, said the JAC convenor Aziz Lamin Nongyai in a press meet held at Lilong Heinoumakhong today.
Repeated appeals have been made but the Government and the PHED have neglected the people of the region, he said.
