1st RK Sanajaoba Memorial U-20 Chess Tournament from March 18

IMPHAL, Mar 11 : The Kanglei Chess Academy is set to host the 1st edition of RK Sanajaoba Memorial U-20 Chess Tournament 2026 from March 18 to 22 at academy located at Yaiskul Sanakhwaton Kollup.
The tournament is organised under the aegis of the Manipur Chess Association and in co-operation with Rajkumar Sanajaoba Memorial Trust.
The tournament is open to players born on or after January 1, 2006 and the players must submit valid age proof (Aadhaar card or Birth Certificate) at the time of entry submission that can be done till March 16.
The tournament carries a cash prize of Rs 2,000 and a trophy for the topper; Rs 1,500 and a trophy for the second placed player and Rs 1,000 and a trophy for the third placed players besides Rs 800 and Rs 700 cash prizes for the fourth and 5th position holders. Players who finish from 6th to 10th positions will meanwhile receive a cash prize of Rs 500 each.
There are also special prizes for the best U7 boys and girls, the best U-11 boys and girls and the best KCA boys and girls.
The tournament will be conducted as per FIDE Laws of Chess and FIDE Swiss System. Further details can be had from the office of the Kanglei Chess Academy.
