Veteran T-20: YPHU Warrior enter semifinal

IMPHAL, Mar 12: Even as YPHU-Warrior Lalambung have entered the semifinal of the 13th T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament, the quarterfinal match between KCC Kongba and YWC Langthabal was abandoned at Langthabal Public Ground, Imphal today.
YPHU(W) Lalambung secured the semifinal spot, after securing a 35-run victory over REYS Nagamapal in the second quarterfinal match.
The first quarterfinal match saw KCC Kongba batting first and amassing 45 runs for 4 wickets in 7.2 overs before it was abandoned.
Bonny (16 runs off 14 balls) and Lamnganba (0 run off 1 ball) remain undefeated.
Samukcham Robertson Singh (2 runs off 4 balls), N Devkanta Singh (23 runs off 22 balls) and H Kiran (1 run off 3 balls) fell early.
YWC's Abujam Rojeshkumar, P Prakashmani and L Sasi scalped one KCC wicket each.
The match is yet to be rescheduled.
In the 2nd quarterfinal match at the Langthabal Public Ground, YPHU (W) won the toss and opted to bat first to amass 135 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs.
REYS failed in the chase, scoring only 100 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs.
Kumarkanta (29 runs off 24 balls), Khoisnam Hemanta Singh (25 runs off 31 balls), Heromen Singh Ningthoujam (20 runs off 14 balls), Ponil (18 runs off 8 balls), Boicha (18 runs off 14 balls), Kshetrimayum Bikram (12 runs off 16 balls) and Salam Josan (9 runs off 13 balls) contributed runs for YPHU(W) to reach 135 runs.
REYS' Thokchom Iboyaima Singh and RK Nongdren Singh took 2 wickets each, and Loukrakpam Superjit Singh scalped one wicket.
In REYS' failed chase, Bonny knocked a massive 53 runs including 3 fours off 61 balls. Y Maikel knocked 13 runs off 15 balls. Others failed to contribute any meaningful runs.
YPHU-Warrior's Heromen Singh Ningthoujam took 3 wickets. Kumarkanta took 2 wickets, and Ponil, Kshetrimayum Bikram and Khoisnam Hemanta Singh took one wicket each.
